Rose Mulled Wine | Kitchen Recipes
Ingredients
400g caster sugar
6 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
3 fresh bay leaves
1 whole nutmeg (grated)
1 vanilla pod, halved lengthways
2 star anise
1 bottle Rose wine
1 orange
1 lemon
Method
Roughly peel orange & lemon and place skins in a saucepan (limited pith the better) along with all the spices 200g of sugar and 1/4 cup of red wine.
Slowly bring to a light simmer until all sugar is dissolved. Once sugar is dissolved slowly add the rest of the sugar and wine one for one until a nice glossy consistency is achieved. Take off heat and pour through a sieve to get rid off excess spices/peels.
