Chew Like Hell

Evening team!

Monday is coming to a close and this week is off to a racing start.

That’s the trick, isn’t it? Dare to go fast. Bite off more than you can chew, and chew like hell. (Wise words from Angela Weeks.)

Everyone always tells a one-sided story of The Tortoise and the Hare. Yes, the Hare got lazy and arrogant. He took a nap and unwittingly handed the win to the Tortoise on a sleepy silver platter.

But no one cared to chronicle the Hare after he lost that first round. You know what? He failed, fast. Maybe he went on to become a world-renown olympian rabbit, racing past world records around the globe. His first mistake was an opportunity to learn an invaluable lesson. Useful as long as he acted on it.

Aesop said, “Don’t brag about your lightning pace, for Slow and Steady won the race!”

Well I bet you that next time, the Hare put his ears down, worked hard, and didn’t stop.

Bedtime stories aside, UFC fighter Colin McGregor echoed the same sentiment after his big championship loss this weekend. (Anyone catch the fight? Bloodiest thing I’ve ever seen.)

"I stormed in and put it all on the line. I took a shot and missed.
I will never apologize for taking a shot.
Sh*t happens.
I'll take this loss like a man. I will not shy away from it."

Face it, and fix it. We all have this within ourselves.
