St Patrick's Ballad
Top of the Evening to you all, Team!
Had fun with this one this week.
As I sit here writing this St Patrick’s Day,
There’s just a few things that I do want to say.
First, a ‘Fair Play!’ (as the Irish say) to a week smoothly steered.
We’ve got Butter and Bunnies coming out of our ears!
New Zealanders simply cannot get enough
Of our very cute bunnies frolicking on shelf.
Bouncing and prancing with their ears all aflop,
Noses all scrunched as into carts they hop.
On that big Book of Faces where we’ve posted some pics,
Both Kiwis and others we’ve truly transfixed.
From three posts thus far, we’ve reached 730k people;
Making them smile, and tickling quite gleeful.
Spreading Easter spirit (much better than most -
As average neck tags do little for a boast)
Is what we do best, from spark to result.
Enkindling warmth to that child within each adult.
Tomorrow, we have planned a sweet competition
In which Roadies on Facebook can bring to fruition
Their deepest delicious Bunny Milk desires -
An Easter meal fit for foodies inspired.
Warm hot cross buns slathered rich and thick
With our Sea Salt Crystal Butter will surely do the trick,
And especially washed down with a Bunny Milk or two,
Plus our lovely Butter Bell for them to now use.
We’ve also set posts to specifically target
The places in NZ with Bunny-full supermarkets.
Kiwis on Facebook who live near their local
Will all get called to store when looking at their mobiles.
We’ll keep you updated on Social feedback.
Give us a shout if you need anything - we got your back.
Yesterday a few of us traipsed over the road
To visit Richard Pryor of Private Flight Global.
He shared insights on company style
And how to keep turning up the innovation dial.
They call projects “Sprints”, which in fact is quite fitting;
To sprint 'cross the finish line’s how we should be winning.
Find niche in the market; fall in love with a problem;
Some can only see limits, but the better (wo)man solves them.
Step back. Take a look at the journey we’re on,
How we carry and lift our customers along.
Break down the process and notice the tweaks
We could make so the machinery groans with no squeaks.
“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak.”
So say what you think and forego being meek.
“Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”
Closing up ears leads to disengagement and friction.
The journey is where opportunity lies.
We say ‘Dairy Should be this Wonderful’ to emphasise
What we’re bringing to NZ and eventually, the world:
The highest quality and indulgent experience, unfurled.
I hope this poem has at least brought a smile
To your face this St Paddy’s day and made it worthwhile.
There’s not one drop of Ireland in my veins,
But hey, after a few green beers, everyone’s Irish the same.
May leprechauns skip across your paths today,
(Mischievous ones at NW Remuera stole bunny ears astray…)
May pots of 'liquid gold' land on every shelf
Throughout New Zealand - take pride in yourself!
Go for green everyone.
